Guest casbri Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 long distance would be over 500 mile
jimmy white Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 too much of this ,,,short sprint,, sprint,,,,,,,sprint to middle ,,,,,middle to long , ,,,long to extreme long , basicly i would say anything up to 350 miles sprint, over that termed as the longer races
Guest j v ward Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 long distance would be over 500 mile wes i think same
Guest j v ward Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 long distance would be over 500 mile yes i think same
Lennut Tar Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 yes i think same I may be wrong ????????? ;D ;D ;D but it's not the distance as such, that desides this question/query. To me !!!!!!! it's the hours on the wing that they do, which category they fall into etc. Under 10 hours "Sprint" over & above 10 hours "Distance". Enjoy.
Guest Vic Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 And..... May Vic add. the terrain the birds have to negotiate.
Roland Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 And..... May Vic add. the terrain the birds have to negotiate. I think he means that flying up and over hills makes it's long /9er) ;D ;D But 350 is sprint upto 550 is fair to diddlum middle and over is classed as long. 700 or more is what I'd dem long personally. Why that's why they 'Names' like 'Noon' libs... so their s/sprinters catcth up at the waters when too dark to cross, and nip over to be classed as 'Distance' birds... whereas the rue grit / distance birds then have to battle on with cold muscles etc. and aches etc. and then lol and behold expect to beat the bird that's been in it's loft for 4/5/6 hours.
robinthfc Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 depends if you fly downhill on the south or uphill on the north ;D Personally I'd call up to 200 sprint, 200 - 450 mid distance, 450 and over long.
