Shortcut Lofts Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 Has anyone ever heard of dark skinned Ybs being rubbish? I have been told this and would like to assure the fancier that there is no difference. Can anyone shed any light on this "Theory"?

swilcox Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 Pink skin is always a good sign of health at any age. Sick birds esp young go very grey which is normally a sign the internal organs are shutiing down and the end is near. Stu
Shortcut Lofts Posted April 2, 2009 Author Report Posted April 2, 2009 Exactly right, the guy likes nice pink skin at approx 6 - 8 days old and any that does not have it he kills them???? I did not mean Black feathered pigeons. Thanks
Guest IB Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 I recall a similar discussion on here years ago, when I posted that some of my darker-coloured birds appeared to have darker skin, especially at the feather-shafts-coming-through stage, and their legs appeared darker too. I think its just that - an appearance. They ended up with pink skin like the rest.
Baz Hardman Posted April 2, 2009 Report Posted April 2, 2009 yes dark coloured squabs turn out to be dark coloured pigeons and also reds.
peterpau Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 My birds are Krauths and the babbies in the nest are very dark long before the feathers come through
