Guest chrisss Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 you done the right thing lets hope its not too late
sammy Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 no wonder there as many problems about club should be reported to there federation
polly Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 Glad you had the sense to bring your birds back home. Not worth the risk. I can't believe that they said it would be ok. You would want to change your club or suss out someone in the club who is the most experienced fancier with advice and best practise you could follow. Good luck.
VAGIN Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 You did the right thing prevention is part of the cure well done
peterpau Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 You should make sure his birds don't go. If the other members say they are ok. Leaves you the choice send or not. Every week we all put our birds in with a crate full of potential strays. However sick live stock should not be transported by law. I think you've done the right thing, but you must make sure the sec is aware of why you took yours home.
OLDYELLOW Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 i would of refused to put them through if they were in no fit state
terry mccarthy Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 they should of been thrown out if they aint men enough to do that then they should put them in own crates and people wonder why we have to medicate our birds on return from racing your only as good as the next dirty flyer im afraid
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 problem is if you object youer a problem as most of you know
terry mccarthy Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 why should u suffer because of other peoples ignorance sorry but i would of insisted that they be taken out your probally have the last laugh when u go to mark next week birdage will probally be halfed due to sickness unless they do the same
Guest chrisss Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 why should u suffer because of other peoples ignorance sorry but i would of insisted that they be taken out your probally have the last laugh when u go to mark next week birdage will probally be halfed due to sickness unless they do the same and i bet they still will not clean the crates out, even if the birds are sick
terry mccarthy Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 they will probally think there doing the convoyer a favour leaving it in there 1 less crate to feed ;D
terry mccarthy Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 this is the one thing that really gets up my nose dirty flyers we struggle to keep our birds fit and healthy for someone to throw it all away for you in 1 race they should all be banned from racing im afraid sorry if it seems a bit harsh but its the truth they wont do it again though would they or would they >
pault Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 spot on terry i myself have not raced this week cos my birds are not 100 percent right ill bet some members would of sent them knowing the birds are not right it is all pissing me off

just ask me Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 and its sounds like young bird sickness your club mates wil be doing some curseing next week i started up a thread before where i said everyone should have there own hamper if possible and i was shot down by a couple of ppl but it seems to make sence now
Blue Chequer Pied Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 problem is if you object youer a problem as most of you know Very true Chris the sad fact is that some peoples ego's are more important than the birds welfare. They would rather send sick birds knowing that thay had no chance than miss a few weeks or a young bird season. Then again there is an argument that they don't know they have a problem or they are aware of the problem and want everyone else to have it aswell.

Regards, Paul.
