frank1 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 IF U WERE ONLY INTRESTED IN LONG DISTANCE RACING WOT SIZE OF TEAM WOULD U RECOMEND ALSO WOULD YOU PUT THE YOUNG BIRDS ON THE DARKNESS SYSTEM?
budgie Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 IF U WERE ONLY INTRESTED IN LONG DISTANCE RACING WOT SIZE OF TEAM WOULD U RECOMEND ALSO WOULD YOU PUT THE YOUNG BIRDS ON THE DARKNESS SYSTEM? Frank You would need to start the season with around 30 Old Birds from two year olds and upwards and there would be no point in puting them on the Darkness. And at the end of the Season you will be lucky to count in one hand the ones that have scored in National Racing which goes back to my theory of 98% Shi-te in every Loft in the country. All the best in 2009
Guest asha Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 It`s not so much size of team frank,it`s more about having a system in place, and the patence and tenacity to se it through thick and thin. As long as you really know in your heart of hearts you got the right birds for the job, they will not let you down, but 90% of the time the fancier himself is the failure in the team, just because you take beating after beating, never give up on them, one day you will get up there,if you got only a dozen or 120,its down to you.

peterpau Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 How long is a peice of string? Kind of think it's more a case of how many you can manage well. The more you can manage the better : Have too many and that's of no use what so ever. Have to agree with budgie though only I'd say over 98% are not up to it. I will breed 40 young 'uns but won't pair till mid March (Split 'em last week.) No darkness here all natural. These will all go out to Lamballe 274 mile and the yearlings I have, will go to Bordeaux 515 mile. I have no 2 year olds after moving house and just 1 cock that I broke that flew Palamos 751 mile to our new loft. How long do you think it took me to find him?
