blaz Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 well this weekend is the last race in our yb program . how many members Finnish this week end in club and fed yb racing . how would you rate your yb season on a scale 1 to 10 .myself i would rate my season on a poor 4 out of 10 from me and 8 out of ten for my birds. as birds lost far to much time at home end .that is down to me.
b.massey Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 old birds 8/10 for performance.(Won old bird cup Rosewell) Young birds 2/10. Worst young bird season in many years. One more race to come and then onto the showing for me
Shortcut Lofts Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 old birds 8/10 for performance.(Won old bird cup Rosewell) Young birds 2/10. Worst young bird season in many years. One more race to come and then onto the showing for me Hey Brian, i hear Marshall is showing you the way lol Better watch the shows as well as hes already planning these too lol Eamon
b.massey Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Yeah Eamon think Marshall has won 3 or 4 out the 6 young bird races. We won the 1st then a couple 2nds. Only race 20 young birds at most so not the worst performance but the last 2 races were very bad races for us with heavy losses. lost 10 in the last two races
Shortcut Lofts Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 I would not rate my season very highly as well, although we still have 4 big races left so you never know. Ybs 2/10 Obs 5/10. Looking foward now to end of long season and the shows.
Guest strapper Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 4 races to go b4 the end...3 comebacks and one national. my 1st race this saturday,i think the birds are ready only time will tell. ??)
kirky Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 8/10 for ybs, 6th 7th 6th 9th 4th 4th 1st so far still 3 races to go.
Guest spin cycle Posted September 2, 2009 Report Posted September 2, 2009 my seasons over (dizzy)...just been told we can't send club/fed birds with nrcc to dunbar. to late to enter with nrcc....rather cross(verymad)
Guest pigeon82 Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 my ybs are 10/10 first season and i got 3x 1sts 3x 2nds 2x 3rds 1 x 4th 1 x 6th 1 x 8th this is including fed races but what away to start your career off this time last year i was building my loft and my first birds arrived february 16th ready for yb season started with 18 ybs racing got 10 left now 4 killed by cats so that leaves 4 or 5 that i lost threw racing but was also given another 6 that i raced and out of those i was given i have 5 so i cant complain about my season brilliant
pigeonpete Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 Think this had been my worst season in 4 years of racing :-( started off well with old birds, 2nd club 12th fed first race, 1st club 1st fed 2nd race, then that was it!! had some reasonable performances in my first year in nfc, and had good returns from races. having awful problems with wildlife in general (getting on top of them now). ybs a disaster lost a load before racing, due to perigrine attack training, and been last nearly every race, but had 100% returns?? sending 3 old hens to fougeres national today, so fingers crossed, eggs hatched this morning as planned :-) :-) keep trying for next year :-) so 4/10 obs and 1/10 for ybs
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted September 3, 2009 Report Posted September 3, 2009 well this will be my first season with out a first since 1991 . but i have changed racing address and have only raced young birds this year . only lost 6 racing out of 35 but i was feeding abit heavy just to give them plenty of energy to get them home so have been a bit off the pace but at least i have a nice little team left to work with next year as old birds
