Guest IB Posted September 13, 2009 Report Posted September 13, 2009 YEP I CLEANED MY MATES LOFTS OUT THIS MORNING AND SO I PICK THEM OUT A FEW HAVE FLOWN AT HIS I WILL RING HIM TO FIND OUT WOULD IT BE BEST TO LET THEM OUT IN THE LATE EVENING I've read the thread through to the end and have a clearer idea of the situation. First and most important, treat these birds as you would any new introduction into your loft, put them into a section on their own for at least a week, just to make sure they are not carrying anything that could infect your other birds. Second, get them transferred, before you let them out. It is your final proof that these birds are yours with their owner's consent. Third, as they have been in second loft, and yours is their third, you will need to break them after they have been transferred. Fourth, do your usual settling routine, which I assume it has already worked for you, but I wouldn't try them before they have been 21 days with you. It gets dark early at night, so I would try them from first light in the morning. That way you can keep your own birds out all the time that the new birds are out, and if they go scouting, your own birds are there to bring them down when they come back.
