Guest phillip Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 In 2007 on a 342km race my YB came in first out of 336 birds clocked for the race @ a velocity of 2041meters per minute . He came high out of the sky & we only found out that evening after striking out & the results came , that he has won the race & has broken a 40yrs record in the club .
stantheman Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 mine was timing in only bird on day from saintes, can still see her now coming straight as an arrow over dobbies garden centre what a feeling when you know there arnt many about and you get one cannot beat it thats why i prefer the longer races
micci Posted November 15, 2009 Report Posted November 15, 2009 my first ever thrill was winning my first red card with a little blue hen, way back in the past, but i can still see her in my minds eye..The other was with a mealy cock that won Basingstoke, 2nd Fed, Then the following week won Gurnsey, week off, then won me Poitiers 400 odd miles and i think it was 2nd or 3rd fed, i won the club by an hour, and we had some top names in the club, Les Davenport being one of them.. I lost this Cock from Bergerac, looked for him for Months
