Guest JonesyBhoy Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 That would be magic having something like that again..
Guest stb- Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Maybe I got the convoyer wrong but what I meant was that gordon only takes our birds so far down the road before using some other transporter( I thought it was the lanarkshire motor but clearly not),my point is that this free's up our own motor after that and we could have extra races starting back at otterburn and going back out to wetherby or wakefield, this would give birds that had made a mistake or got injured a better chance to get educated for the following year. also this same idea could be used when we have 4 weeks in the summer between our last inland and our channel race. The truck would be going to those races empty . you can hardly get enough birds to race the programe let alone add extras nowadays the reason for joint convoying is to cut down on costs
Guest stb- Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 That would be magic having something like that again.. in the later stages ayrshire were not really competing in it
fastblack Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 we really need to make some kinda top races if they can have unc midland nationals durham combine why cant the west promote there own comb/nat/or amal just a thought thanks
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Defo.. should be looking for ways to unite fanciers and help each other..
fastblack Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 politics are ruining the game just look at state of the country with politics jmo
Guest stb- Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 the combine was there for years but died a death due to lack of interest and support. Think the inland nats would have had a bearing on this. think you are to late for the combine now , theres not the same members and birdage to make it a prestigious race. The fanciers that are left prob prefer the inland nats and further for competition now.

bibendium Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 I can remember the west coast combine going to Avranches in the 70,s with 1 full catterals transporter plus smaller one , all the feds , Glasgow, Ayrshire, Ballochmyle and the then 2 kyle feds used to load at the old bullring in Kilmarnock. wonder how many birds were sent from the area must have been 3000+

I Stoped going to the wcc when the birdage was dropping to a few hundred a good few years back. To many people sent to the races and did not go in the combine
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 All these feds still have a 300 mile or so race.. so it would be possible to come together for a WCC race from there..?? Thoughts..??

Guest JonesyBhoy Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Well as it was said last night.. a lot of feds team up to save costs as its gets further down the road.. so whats to stop it..??
bibendium Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 maybe dig out yer magic wand. think it would be needed now we cant even keep all the members flying in the same direction in Ayrshire let alone organise a combine , great thought tho it would be
Guest frank dooman Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Well as it was said last night.. a lot of feds team up to save costs as its gets further down the road.. so whats to stop it..?? whats wrong with the Calladioan Combine?????? we have now
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Nothing at all mate What Feds make that up..?? Were there more Feds in the old WCC..??
hotrod Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 we cant even keep all the members flying in the same direction in Ayrshire let alone organise a combine , great thought tho it would be i think in the end it was only renfrew and ballochmile that was left in it ,in fact i think one of the last races there was only about 40/50 birds entered entered in the combine from france ,its a shame because it used to a good gamble
bibendium Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Nothing at all mate What Feds make that up..?? Were there more Feds in the old WCC..?? was 6 fed Ayrshire, Ballochmyle, Glasgow, Renfrew, and 2 Kyle feds
Guest frank dooman Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 Nothing at all mate What Feds make that up..?? Were there more Feds in the old WCC..?? yes prob lots more G/F S/LF F/Bridges loanhead and now R/F
duncandoo Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 lanarkshire fed boy are too busy with infighting just now trying to put different people in different sections just to try to win fed tickets instead of trying to do what you are trying to do shame on them all instead of trying to unite the pigeon fraternity and organise great racing it makes me cringe at times
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 You not think it would be good then with the current members of the Caladonian Combine and the ones which are missing from the old WCC to have one big combine..??
Guest frank dooman Posted November 17, 2009 Report Posted November 17, 2009 yes prob lots more G/F S/LF F/Bridges loanhead and now R/F Thats them jonsey
