the one.s that left pete's loft were selected for the job they had to do over fifty years of selection gave him the best..it was stated that they were shadows but those of us that knew peter knew he never had any of that breed.i would consider them to be the best birds i have owned and sold..although Mr lamsdale still has a few pairs but the youngsters are going again to England in an exchange

Its a shame when birds lose there origins, fanciers spend a lifetime working with a family and enhanceing it for somebody to spoils all the hard work.

I remember taking my parent to a loft near Stoke on Trent for some Kirks, they were outstanding, didn't matter what colour they were they were all like peas in a pod.

Why do people want to change succesful family's of birds?

that would be aterrable thing to do Rab as it is nothing more than conning folk  should always give credit where credit is due  and keep the name of the family going JMO

these days you can buy pair birds then sell them as another breed if you wish; the youngsters that is ?we should design some sort of registrar so we know what we are buying.but i think if you wish to buy birds the way forward is ring the person.s secretary who i would suspect would be happy to confirm the winning claims or indeed the birds that fancier has

Couldn't agree more Phil, A fancier spends years putting a family together and they must be good as we know the strains by name, then people buy them and start crossing them as if they know better, what a waste

wouldn't uncover secrets just the conn merchents trying to make a quick buck!

THATS WHAT I MEAN PHIL THE DARK SIDE  ;) ;) ;)
