Latebreds can turn out very good birds if looked after, just to give you an example, I had a cock that won the club by 84yds

Per min and the Fed by 25yds per min, in an un-favourable wind, First race. I had the same problem on my 1st toss some years ago  lost half my team and that was at 12miles, one returned 12months later mint condition. some things are unexplainable

i had a smash with my ybs 2 seasons ago so a bred 21 latebreds out the stock loft a didnt train them over the winter lyk ppl say 2 do and a  jst let them out on gud days they had 4 10 mile training toss the same week ov the 1st race a still had the 21 for the 1st race and a timed 5 ov them in over the season a lost 6 and they went 2 every inland race so a think latebreds r wot u make ov them

Just a word of caution many a seasons been wasted through impatiains.Still cold and likely to be colder over the next couple of weeks.

All abouot where you want to be in the summer when it matters

Spot on, training just now will give benifits in the early races but the birds will be finished before 250miles.

I race widowhood and love to win the early races but mine will not get a toss until the temprature is up, i like it to 12 degrees min for early training and train around 13.00 -  14.00 when the temp is at its hottest. ;)
