Guest rodders Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 seen a lot of post about electric fences m8 look thro old posts but iv allways wondered if pigeon lands on fence does it shock them ??????????????????????? try this link http://www.rutland-electric-fencing.co.uk/PageHome.aspx
shields1 Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 It depends what you are wanting to achieve. You can get mains units or small battery ones, and either conducting tape or conducting string. The mains ones give the better kick and you don't have to worry about replacing the battery, but cost more to buy-worth it though IMO. Any agricultural supply store will be able to help.
soapy Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 have you got cows or sheep coming on your land, if its to deter cats dont fanny about with an electric fence get a bloody cat box
peterpau Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 Electric fence is far and away the best way to keep cats out
soapy Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 well peter you got cats and i havnt , throw your money away on an electric fence
Guest frank dooman Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 well peter you got cats and i havnt , throw your money away on an electric fence sory got to disagree with you here this is the the mistake most fanciers make when cats are around your loft and you see them thats only the tip of the iceberg its the damage they do when you dont see them ive went down the road of my 2 terriers moveing them on and takeing them there holidays etc but when you see whats happening on video it makes your skin crawl they will spend hrs every night trying to get in i have the video to prove it the birds suffer as they dont digest there food so dont get the good they need to race + cant rest by the time you find out whats wrong its too late the damage has been done iam on my last warning for giveing cats there holidays i thought i was doing them a faver but you cant win cats are thought better of than our bird yet they are not liecened so the fence does work well trust me they dont come back once they have been tickeled
Roland Posted April 11, 2010 Report Posted April 11, 2010 http://www.countrystoredirect.com/ Next day delivery, and very helpful. Have used Rutland too... but a lot more money. A battery charger does the same job, but be safe and go direct and have done with it.
peterpau Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 well peter you got cats and i havnt , throw your money away on an electric fence Well if I have cats they must be very good as mine are on open hole. There's no cats her I can assure you and you clearly don't know what your on about.
