Guest shadow Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 same just made by different company
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 , ONE IS OIL BASED AND ONE IS WATER BASED , BOTH DO THE SAME JOB THOUGH,
NANCYVIEWLOFTS Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 yes nobivac is oil based and colombovac is water based i have used both and found colombovac the easiest to administrate nobivac seems thicker and can leave a oily mark on the neck if not given properley just my view
barry Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 DO YOU STILL HAVE TO STORE NOBIVAC IN THE FRIDGE
Guest shadow Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Should store both vaccines in the fridge then take them out 24hrs before using them
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 yes nobivac is oil based and colombovac is water based i have used both and found colombovac the easiest to administrate nobivac seems thicker and can leave a oily mark on the neck if not given properley just my view everybody in our club uses nobivac and we administer it using an auto injector gun and never had a single problem having vaccinated tthousands of birds
Guest WINGS 04 Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 TAM DO YOU STERILZE THE NEEDLE AFTER EACH BIRD OR JUST KEEP USING IT
Guest shadow Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 I always sterilized the needle between each bird just my preferance
NANCYVIEWLOFTS Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 tammy who said there was a problem if done properley
Keepsmilingqueen Posted January 21, 2007 Report Posted January 21, 2007 isnt oil based vaccine more prone to adverse reaction than the water based one ???
likklegriz Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 It's about 2 weeks away from racing ours start 14 april i have not yet had my birds injected. The last of my eggs hatched out today do i need to have all loft done together ( or can i leave some out) , can they be done while sitting, feeding young (if so how old should the young be) thanks all
Guest Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 Do your old birds as soon as possible as they need about 14 days before mixing with other birds. Young birds are minimum age 3 weeks (I've never done them at that age yet) to 14 days before training, so you've plenty time there.
madmaxlofts Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 do all your old birds staight away youve got plenty ov time to do all the young together as bruno qupted
Guest Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 I do my YB's at 6 weeks, always do it.I have a friend who several years ago lost a whole team to PMV and it broke her heart,it's not worth the risk.I use columbavac PMV
speedbird Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 wow she lost the whole team didnt realise that pmv was still around i get my last 2ybs next weekend and will be injected shortly after ive known some to inject in the nest i think louella do this too
Guest Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 I think it will be easier to do the youngsters coming out of the nest, but I'm not convinced that this is the best time, or that there is a best time to vaccinate youngsters???
ALF Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 vaccinate them within a week of moving them ;)i try to do this all the time then you have no need to worry
gangster Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 i also like to vaccinate early to get it over with.................
likklegriz Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 THANKS GENTS AND LADIES FOR ALL THE HELP ON THIS ONE 8) ;D
jordanp31 Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 I have heard people talking about vaccinating yb's. Is this a must for all racing birds and does it involve an injection or tablet? What is the price per bird if you do it yourself... :-/
jordanp31 Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 also... is there one product that can treat for most things ???
Guest Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 Compulsory for racing & showing that you vaccinate all your racers once per year against paramyxo virus [PMV]. Vaccine costs around £18 and is enough to do 50 birds.
