Guest IB Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Shown as POM on VMD website, so would need to be prescribed by a vet.
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Its not the first choice of medication in birds or humans - in humans it is only given to those allergic to penicillin - as there are better medicines available as IB said it's prescrioption only
mac1 Posted June 15, 2008 Author Report Posted June 15, 2008 thanks for the replys, ive never used it was told about it from another fancier..

Guest IB Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 i know where you can get it from mac Think that it is only right to sound a warning here. If you refer to Letters page 5, BHW 6th June, David Parsons has a letter published on Veterinary Medicines Directorate crackdown on illegal supply of medications.
schouwman71 Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 i know where you can get it from mac erythromycin, enhances pigeons on race days, especially on land races, believe me ive seen fanciers use it and topped the combine and G.Y.A while using it,this was about 8 yrs ago, didnt think it was still been made now.Good luck to those that use it but if used too much will end up with poorly pigeons bye the end of the season. Les I think nowadays using it for that purpose would fall under the 'ANY DRUG FOUND TO BE PERFORMANCE ENHANCING' part of the performance enhancing drug rules in force in most Unions.
