Delboy Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 have been for years keep stirring it Maybe the makeup of this product has changed since I used it about 15 years ago, but when I mixed it with hot water it started to curdle, no matter how much I stirred.I tried it again with cold water and it was much easier to dissolve. Just my opinion :-/ :-/

Guest IB Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 I would go with the previous posts that point out there are pigeon wormers - there's so many of them on the market that they are even selling them unrestricted in the shops - you don't even have to sign your name to a pack of lies to get hold of them.. Late vet Frank Harper also said this wasn't best way to give ivermectin to pigeons. And there is also resistance in worms to ivermectin, so it might not be doing what you want it to do.
steve. Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 just a quick question !! why would u use a horse wormer to worm pigeons ????? y not just use a pigeon wormer ??
steve. Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 oh just 1 more thing !! i as well as keeping racing pigeon keep horses and would in my opinion say eqvalan or how ever u spell it ! is not really that good any way . if u go through horse wormers they all do diff things and it depends what time of yeah as to what u really need to treat for .. oh and by the way most wormers treat up to around a 600 or 700kg horse f--k me that is a lot of pigeons !
chickadee Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 just a quick question !! why would u use a horse wormer to worm pigeons ????? y not just use a pigeon wormer ?? Because we heard it's meant to be really good and a lot of people use it and swear by it.
Guest Doade Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 Well I started this 8) They have all been given it tonight. I will judge myself if its any good though indication here on the forum have been good as to its worth on pigeons.

I will judge myself if its any good though indication here on the forum have been good as to its worth on pigeons. i would have waited until after the moult to give them this.I use this every year and repeat the dose a fortnight later after treating them the first time , excellent stuff :) :)
chickadee Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 some people swear by crack cocain !!!!!!!!!!! some people swear by base jumping !!!!!!!!! where do i stop !! not every thing is good for ya because some 1 swears by it !! That is very true but, we are like everyone else and would like to try a product that really works without there being any ill health to the birds and if good pigeon fliers have used this product and say it is good then we would like to try it, (especially if it's been tried and tested again and again), So no need to get so upset, was just sayin what we were told by a group of good fliers.
DOVEScot Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 some people swear by crack cocain !!!!!!!!!!! some people swear by base jumping !!!!!!!!! !! For pigeon worming, what is the dose and how many does it treat, I bet they fly some where do i stop !! not every thing is good for ya because some 1 swears by it !! Not everything is bad for you because someone doesn't agree with it :-/
jimmy white Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 this is one of the ivermectin pruducts having tried this myself found it to be great for worming birds , also for lice on the ouside,,,,,,,,,,but if your bird has been treated with this ! and inadvertantly gets killed and eaten by a hawk,,, this will poison and kill the poor hawk!
sammy Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 ,,,,,,,,,,but if your bird has been treated with this ! and inadvertantly gets killed and eaten by a hawk,,, this will poison and kill the poor hawk!,think that this is just wishfull thinking as with the amount of ivermectine that is getting used on pigeons shows that it aint killing anything else apart from what its suppose to do as there are more hawks than ever now

sammy Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 not wishfull thinking sammy,,,,,,it does ,, beleive me then why is there as many birds of prey on the go jimmy ,i have used it on mine and they have been killed with them and still they come back so to me that is showing its not working ,i think someone just made it up to create a money making enterprise as with other things concerning pigeons that are supposed to be good
Guest Doade Posted October 4, 2008 Report Posted October 4, 2008 What a bummer 8) I'm away out to pump their stomachs out now to save the poor hawks >
