Frazer Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Hi guys sure i read a post about using fly spray to get rid of lice, anyone used it,does it work and is it safe to use.
Guest IB Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Check the label for the active ingredient , if it's permethrin, it's exactly the same stuff used to spray pigeons for lice, and safe to use.
Guest Owen Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Why would you use fly spray when you can use the properly designed spray to do the job? It sounds penny wise and pound foolish to me. There are plenty of very good products that you can use, without taking the risk of using unsuitable chemicals. Why not use moxidectin and treat the worms all at the same time.
Guest Taylors Choice Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 http://pigeons.taylorschoice.co.uk/search/results.php?s=lice Theres a few products on that page that might be worth trying
Guest shadow Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Hi guys sure i read a post about using fly spray to get rid of lice, anyone used it,does it work and is it safe to use. perfectly safe used it for years
Roland Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Personally I'd let the lice freedon to roam ... till have to take club as they moan in their ignorance. They are good for cleansing and keeping the feathers in tip top form. Ask a belgium if they de - lice!
jimmy white Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 first of all fly spray works well [birds dont like it ] also roland has a point here,, but theres a difference to the odd lice, wich you will find anytime if you really try,,,,, than birds being completely lousy usually an ill bird or a dirty loft,, an ill bird will stop preening itself i,e stop using its oil gland on its back,, but a bird with the odd lice will preen itself more , producing better quality feathering ,, nature worst thing in the loft is mite and flies ,,fly spray works on these , especially ,,flies ;D ;D
Tony C Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Having never seen any lice on a dead fly I guess it must work.
jimmy white Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 ;D ;D ;D see, told you it works ;D ;D ;D

Guest IB Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I know they used Condies Crystals back when I was a teenager, think I saw it in drinking and bath water? But more of a disnifectant than an insecticide surely?
