Guest pigeon82 Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 i have been noticing this last while slugs all around my garden and i am wondering if i put circle of salt around my shed i know it will kill the slugs but will the salt affect the birds
pjc Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 most mineral blocks/pickstones contain salt, the birds like it but will only effect them if they gorge themselves after not having it readily available for a while.
Guest JPH Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 nope wont harm them, some salt on loft floor good for them they only eat what they need. dig a hole in ground put pint tumbler in fill 3/4 with beer check next morning and will be full of slugs and snails great wat to get rid of them. ;)

Dont put salt onto them, it makes a bloody mess around the garden.

Guest kevin b Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 B e very careful when putting salt in your loft if the birds have not had any for a while, some will gorge on it and kill themselves. Introduce the salt in small quantities at first once they have it in their systems they should be ok and not over eat it. Kevin
