hi all ive found the best stuff for keeping a team of birds in good health is ionic colloidal silver, but not just any old stuff put together it has to be made properly, not with tap water, but with 100% de-ionized water, and also not with silver wires, but with proper silver bullion bars of 1 troy oz each.

if its made ok your team will florish, old birds keep going on it,but young birds they love it they seem to know it

they don't get many problems and the one's that do,put some into their mouth a few times a day and their fine.

some of the ailments it kills,salmonella,e-coli,y.b.sickness,adenovirus,ect.

and its natural no chemicals, bugs can't build up a resistance to it,so you can give it always.

         hope this helps all.

Some info -

Prior to 1938, colloidal silver was widely promoted as a "cure-all", and silver products were prescribed by physicians as topical antibiotics. However, with the development of more effective, less expensive antibiotics such as penicillin and sulfanilamide, medical use of colloidal silver ceased. From approximately 1990, there has been a resurgence of the promotion of colloidal silver as an alternative medicine treatment, marketed with claims that it can prevent or treat numerous diseases. In vitro evidence of an antimicrobial effect of colloidal silver is mixed; some studies have found it to lack any antibacterial effect, while others have reported an effect attributed to silver ions which coexist in the colloid. There is no evidence that any preparation of colloidal silver is effective in vivo.

Electrolytically dissolved silver was added as a disinfectant to the drinking water supplies of Russian Mir space missions and the International Space Station.

Currently, there are no evidence-based medical uses for colloidal silver. There are no clinical studies in humans demonstrating effectiveness, and several reports of toxicity. The U.S. National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine has issued an advisory indicating that the marketing claims made about colloidal silver are scientifically unsupported, and that the silver content of marketed supplements varies widely and can pose risks to the consumer.

Argyria

Excessive intake of silver products may result in a condition known as argyria, one symptom of which is blue or gray discoloration of the skin. The discoloration occurs when silver is deposited in the skin and then darkened by sunlight, just as silver particles in photographic film darken when exposed to sunlight. Localized argyria can occur as a result of topical use of silver-containing remedies, while generalized argyria results from the ingestion of colloidal silver. Argyria is usually permanent, and there is no known effective treatment. While argyria is usually benign and limited to skin discoloration, there are isolated reports of more serious neurologic, renal, or hepatic complications. A death has been reported in the medical literature as a result of colloidal silver use; in that case, a 71-year-old man developed status epilepticus which the authors felt was due to silver toxicity.

A number of case reports describe argyria after ingestion of colloidal silver marketed as an alternative-medicine treatment.Colloidal silver may theoretically interact with some medications, including tetracycline and quinolone antibiotics and penicillamine, reducing the effectiveness of those

I used it for a couple of years. I did not find it did what I was told it could do. It is another one of those stroies that Bilco has told so convincingly. During the time I used it I had YBS, canker and cocci. I don't know about salmonella because I vaccinate for that. As far as I am concerned, from experience not what someone else has told me, it is a load of old tosh. I have kept records so if anyone wants to find out more I can give them detailed info.

Why do you all try everything to keep your pigeons healthy.. if they are not healthy without supplements they are not good pigeons, and you are doing something wrong, we have never treated a pigeon for anything, we give our pigeons nothing and not treated flock wise in over 17 years !!

if your pigeons need supplements to hold them up they are weak pigeons, food and water. get on with it.

you are probably right in what you say. The problem is that my pigeons do get canker, cocci and worms. And they have to be vaccinated for paramixo by law. In addition to that, I vaccinate for paratyphoid to protect them against the infected pigeons that are often in the race paniers. Put there by people who don't care to check these things. I know for sure that they get these problems because I check with my microscope reglarly. I also know that my pigeons do not win races if they have any of these problems. And it is a fact that there is no immunity to worms and they will do serious damage if left untreated. So I can't see how it would be possible to win with the pigeons I keep if I didn't treat for these problems when they show up. On the other hand, because I use the microscope, I do not have to treat blindly and I probably treat less than most of the fanciers I know.
