Guest Owen Posted November 21, 2009 Report Posted November 21, 2009 I learned on a microscope kit I bought in Aldi. Both Aldi and Liddl sell them just before Xmas each year. These kits are made by Bresser, one of the leading makers of microscopes and come in a wooden carrying case and cost about 40:00. The microscopes will do anything you will need to do. Learning to use the microscope is a question of learning to focus the instrument and learning what to look for. Colin Walker's book is one of the best to help you recognise the various nasties that you are looking for. I attended the Courses run by David Parsons the Vet from Wincanton. They are invalueable. I have taught quite a few people how to do it and I always make sure that, if I check samples, I encourage the Fancier to have a look with me. The one spin off that I think we have all benefited by is, that no-one treats blindly any more. By the way it is worth you knowing that there are plenty of people on this forum who can help you. All you need to do, is ask.

ramseyedison Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Yes, microscopy is a nice gift. It can enhance ones learning. Make sure also that the one you are giving will love your gift for him/her. _________________________________________ The latest Microscopy Accessories in Toronto, Biological microscopes in Toronto, Industrial microscopes in Toronto.
