chickadee Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 What causes loose droppings and how do you sort it out?
stevebelbin Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 The damp weather seems to cause the YBs to get watery droppings, if you watch the forecast or look at www.weather.co.uk and watch out for damp weather, you can give them Probiotics on the damp days and cider vinegar + garlic other days. There are loads of causes though, not just damp weather, if they have taken in too much salt, some plants in the garden appear to make them have watery dropping, young bird sickness, a hard race causes watery droppings. Have a look on www.chevita.com and go to the symptoms section, that will give you a better idea.

Guest Davy Fleming Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 RE loose droppings. Yes it may be a number of causes as to why this happens. It is my opinion that it will be down to some form af fungal or bacteria problem. This is very easily cleared up within 3 days with anti- fungal and anti-microbial . another point which is extremely important is the fact that the bird or birds must be re-hydrated because after loose or watery droppings it will be de-hydrated and the longer you wait it will be more difficult for the bird to get back to it's normal health. Anyone with this problem please give me a call on 07961441470 or 01501 734116. Thanks.
westy Posted May 19, 2007 Report Posted May 19, 2007 add white vinigar to the water it will sort them out
Roland Posted May 20, 2007 Report Posted May 20, 2007 Not so difficult to 'Firm Up' the droppings! But one has to make sure that they aren't just camaflaging, covering over any problems. Most have seen glorious looking birds empitomty of health ... that aren't fit to fly up to the top perch so to speak.
