Webmaster Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Read Wiley's comments on creating a microscope board, and Bruno on general health categorisation. If we come up with some good comprehensive categories and I'll pop them on
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 When it comes to the microscope board -I think maybe there sgould be threads where there are photos only of things you would be looking for ie one thread for cocci - another for worms - bacteria and yeast organisms, one for things you might see under the microscope that are not a problem - and only certain people can post the photos - perhaps, as bruno has done - take from other threads, but without all the comments - so we can have some reference threads please :K)

REDCHEQHEN Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 I didn't mean it like that chickadee - I would just like it where you could see the photos - for instance- to compare to your own - without having to trawl through pages of comments to find them - so the photos could be taken off the main threads - where there's comments - or maybe copied to another thread - where no extra comments were allowed - it was just a suggestion :K) or have I dug a bigger hole :B :X :X

Guest Hjaltland Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 - I would just like it where you could see the photos - for instance- to compare to your own - without having to trawl through pages of comments to find them - Good to see this moving ahead, agree with not having to wade through pages of text to get to the pics... images could be submitted by anyone , passed through someone who knows about this stuff, then posted if appropriate.
Guest Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 No offence intended to anyone who has posted comment on any of the photos, but it might also be a step forward for the thread and the site if we could 'sign up' a recognised expert or three : Dr David Parson's training on microscope use is often cited by Bilco for example, and if we could re-establish previous contacts with Dr Wim Peters and Dr Gordon Chalmers it might help to identify problems, problem levels and correct treatment more quickly. On the pictures themselves, my problem is there's lots of stuff there and a screen which doesn't have arrows and captions just doesn't do it for me. A little commentary under the pic saying what's there [arrows and number / caption] and thumbnail advice something like 'normal - do nothing', 'potential problem - monitor', 'definite problem - treat for ... with ....' is a basic standard I'd hope could be achieved. And I'm a real beginner in this field, my microscope is still in its box, I'm not up to speed with anything and I have no idea how to achieve the arrows and captions thing to finish off the pic :-/

Exactly, that's what would be needed. Finding someone in the know who has the time to do this might not be so easy, but it would be fine if someone could. I have no idea how to achieve the arrows and captions thing to finish off the pic 'paint shop pro' or similar is good for this, even Microsoft publisher or Word - you have the facility to enter text and place arrows -
