DOVEScot Posted July 25, 2008 Report Posted July 25, 2008 I've had some really good looking birds that were never any good (as has probably 100% of us ) but in my loft if they dont race well then they dont stay I'm only trying to save the boy from a lot of heartache in my opinion as i dont think his birds will be any good now but if he wants more y/b's for next year just drop me a pm and i'll get him sorted out with a few y/b's to get him started racing Surely we are talking cross purposes here, I know that You don't keep racers because they are good looking if you intend them for racing but if you intend showing them then looks go a long way as do many other factors with show racers If you read all the posts you will see they are not racing pigeons he has :-/

Alf out of interest would you offer the same advice to Kenny at the one loft race or would you try your best to sort the problem :-/

Guest scoobybob Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 If I had one of my birds that was ill I would try to save it don't care that it don't race as mine don't race anyway. I get my pleasure from watching the birds breed and fly. But I would not distroy all my birds if one was ill untill a vet tell me so.
Guest Posted July 26, 2008 Report Posted July 26, 2008 Sorry my mistake Alf, I thought this was a dig at the fact we enjoy our fancy ones and and don't race our racers as yet, although we will be soon I agree that a bird with a twisted neck woudn't be very good at racing i no of 1 that did it belong to the preece brothers of cwmtillery.perhaps there might have been more if they would have been aloud to live.o and i forgot the 1 in my loft that won from 300 birds,it did not fly with a twisted neck but it did have it when it had the dreaded para and with help got over it to win .

just ask me Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 no the vet did not check them just told me to add 5 ml to there drinking water 1s a week i might be reading this wrong but it seems to me to told u to treat with baytrill once a week if he did he really does no noting about the drug or pigeons no antibiotic can be given like this it kills the immune system of the birds bayrill can be given at differnt doses but must be given from 7 to 14 days in most cases in a row and not given one day a week its crazy if he did

Guest amar Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 thanks dovescot i keep rollers i really wanted to go in to racers but i havnt a clue where to start to i bought rollers heart broken most of them where on eggs which are about 2 weeks old
