If you let them eat their fill how much would they eat, over 2oz ?

How long do they exercise for?

I agree with you. No matter what amount was put down to mine, I sensed they were still looking for something (else). Stopped when I fed rice & barley too.

If you think the birds are eating too much and performing below what you think they ought too, have the droppings sampled. I have checked pigeon droppings from birds that have been wormed and found that they still have worms. Just the other week a young fancier asked me to check his droppings. He told me that he had treated for worms, cocci and canker. When I checked, the birds had hair worms, a few round worms and cocci. After the birds were treated they went on to fly really well.

It is always better to check than to treat blindly, because you will not either wast your money on medication that is not needed, or give your birds drugs that could adversly affect their health.

If you think your birds are being greedy and putting on weight, include barley in their diet. They will not over eat on barley.

have your droppings tested mate ' a couple of seasons ago my race team were like that so i had them tested and they had yeast , the vet said that the birds were only in pain when there crops were empty that is why they gorge themselfs

get a ice berg lettuce ,give it a wash ,and put it in the loft for a day ,do this once a week ,they will demolish it and it will give them a lot of things they are craving ,ATB les.

that answer is about as constructive as a lot of answers on here , you get a very brief diagnoses and without any vetenary training you all give answers , and some of the answers are about as much use as a witches brew , to$$er$
