akbird Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 I have a 2001 hen that keeps "panting". I have treated her for respiratory problems twice but she still appears to be panting all the time. Any ideas/suggestions?

I have treated her for respiratory problems twice but she still appears to be panting all the time. Any ideas/suggestions? is she panting or..got a throat full of canker?..canker will sometimes give this impression. look into her throat . also if throat clear she could have an internal problem and the panting could be her way of relieving the pain.
OLDYELLOW Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 if it was indeed respiritry and your loft hasnt been adjusted to help the ventilation then it will keep on returning , however it could be canker
DJWa Posted March 13, 2010 Report Posted March 13, 2010 it could be if shes very overweight that may cause it
akbird Posted March 13, 2010 Author Report Posted March 13, 2010 Her throat is clear, no nasal discharge. She has not been bred this year and is not overweight. I have given her a 5 day course of Vita King 5 in 1 and a 5 day course of 20/10 Tylosin/Amox 1 tab twice daily.
