Simply everything you strive for is in one bundle called 'Condition'!

Health, contentment, motivation, etc. etc. etc. All needed for Completeness.

When a bird has it, then motivation, feed etc. are irrelevant.

Like a bad trap... not in good condition! It is amazing doesn't one think that a bird does it's darnest to get hope... then sits out! - Unless a bad happening / trap shy, or spooked, it just doesn't happen...

P.s sldom is a race lost via a 'Bad Trap' for it was most probably behind any way. Now if it wants home it TRAPS. or isn't in condition, an dthen it won't be winning anyway.

Condition is brouht about in many ways its when the bird is at the peak of its abilities, which will last for two to five weeks in general, proper housing, proper training, proper feeding, and proper all round management, now you introduce the proper motivation to suit bird, with these requirements,it will show you what condition is. Just my opinion.

condition,,,,,,,i,e super condition , is one of the greatest things to see in a pigeon , this super condition in a pigeon is such a joy to behold,, where the bird is handling like cork , never still even changing shade ,colour slightly , eye sparkling like a diamond ,blinking so quick you cant even notice it , feet so hot it cant keep still , the bird outside flying non stop , doing its own thing away from the batch, dissapearing one way, returning the opp. way against the wind , then repeating this , the pigeon actualy telling you its jumping for joy wearing its new mascara  :)

to attain this condition is excellent management and,,,,,,,,,patience [when a good pigeon is in this condition its very hard to stop :)]     but remember ,,its not in this condition all the time, so when it is,,make the best of it :)

never seen that comment but my coment worked it started getting reply's wot other people think it is

Condition ???????  ;D ;D ;D I think it's like a young buck (Human)  :P :P :P who is about to fire up for the first time  :P :P :P & everything is on fire "Hot to Trot" & nothing will stop him achieving being a winner on the day  ::) ::) ::). No science there is there  ;) ;) ;) But thats the best explanation I can come up with I'm afraid.

Enjoy.

Agree with you Aldo without basic good health rest is unlikely, also with Rembrandt,a motivated hen at any distance,is unbeatable, some need motivating, others( good ones) motivate themselves, and are unstoppable, good motivated widowhood cocks likewise, stand in their entrance  on race day, they will cut the face off you,but again health is the basic prioriiy, otherwise there is non or little condition, good question

Just read Jimmys above who has described it to a tee,Duncan Show condition and Race condition are very different. Just my opinion
