Roland Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Went to see me doctor this morning. No not the mental one the physical one lol. Any ways as most times I ask if what is prescribe can relate to a pigeon if I so choose to feed as such lol. Got onto the Oxygen debate and reiterated much what everyone knows. That even oxidising waters can’t getting to the blood system – or course not else it would kill as it would blot / clot etc. So I said yes iron etc. etc. stinging nettles etc, and Red Cell - which they give to horses etc. when he knocked me down in flames. Most problems are dealt with via Tablets and such, and it would be very silly and harmful to increase the oxygen. Indeed 20% is more than ample. That in most cases, heart especially etc. and most things they first thing that is done is to remove any excess oxygen. Too many people have to much oxygen in their system for instance! Further it is a cause of concern, so best not to try and increase the oxygen. Had told him about my grandson on a oxygen tank etc. and that a Medical scientist had thought that a minute or so - like some able are doing – would bring on great form. Not so, in the right circumstance it would of course bring on better health etc, which is why it is used. But once the blood has enough, that’s good, any more is bad. Makes one think it is good we can do just as we want with good intentions, and to steal a march eh! Possibly, or perhaps that why many of us never get up from the bottom of the ladder! Lol
john@formula 1 lofts Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Very true mate and back to a little of something can be good but to much can be very bad
mark croker Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 they are doing that in belgium, incresing the oxygen by injecting blood or somthing like that, not sure of what they are doing but i know they are,
Guest rodders Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 allways thiught its all about get the heboglobin levels right so that if extra oxygen is needed in time of exertion or stress it can be produced and delivered
Roland Posted October 21, 2009 Author Report Posted October 21, 2009 they are doing that in belgium, incresing the oxygen by injecting blood or somthing like that, not sure of what they are doing but i know they are, Called 'Blood packing'. The, do like with the horses, syringe some out and keep in cool in the fridge like, then after the spleens have made up the amount that has been taken out, they inject back the blood that they've took out. Gives the Horse / creature / pigeon more blood, hence more oxygen, etc. etc.
Guest rodders Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 there was a scandel with cyclist racers doing it a couple of years ago wasnt it called epo or something like that basicly the extra blood causes heart to beat fast cos more to pump therefore increasing performance
Roland Posted October 21, 2009 Author Report Posted October 21, 2009 carries the extra oxygen around. Boosted perormances, and was untracable at one time. Now syringe marks are looked for on the pigeon etc. by antone having a reason or cause to... like wanting to buy.
Guest IB Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 Just wondered what effect this 'adding more blood' has on blood pressure? I take a daily pill to control high blood pressure. It works by forcing my body to get rid of water, so reducing my blood pressure, and easing strain on the heart and blood vessels. So will adding more fluid add strain on the heart and blood vessels?
vanreets Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 i need more oxygen after reading all of that :-/ ;)

Proberly, and i hear it was untracable too, but i cant be good at some point, the things people do to win,
Guest Freebird Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 No wonder pigeon racing is sometimes frowned upon. If an athelete takes a drug to stimulate his performance and wins a race but puts his body at risk then that is his choice. To do the same with a pigeon is out of order in my eyes. Surely the goal is to condition a bird naturaly and mentaly to peak on race day and not cheat with potions and drugs etc. to boost it's body at a cost to the health of the bird. Surely a better satisfaction is gained from honest husbandry leading to success than short term illegal ways. Remember we are dealing with living creatures. The ego can be a terrible thing when it gets out of hand.
DUBLINFLYER Posted October 21, 2009 Report Posted October 21, 2009 my god seriously crazy stuff going on if thats true

Depends on your BP at the time, some tablet are Diuretics some beta blockers some help to get rid of water.
