Guest bakes Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 go visit a good distance flyer in your area get direct birds from his winning strains of pigeons the old saying the apple never falls far from the tree you pay your money you take your chances all the best.
schouwman71 Posted October 16, 2009 Report Posted October 16, 2009 buy a good pair of latebreds from 1 good long distance fancier and another pair from another good long distance fancier and cross them, long distance pigeons have to have balls to fly hard for 10 plus hours, its all down to the birds, dont think its that much of the fancier. les

Elvan Willgrass Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 I have a family of Bricxous but all I have given them is just under 600 and they can win but like all breeds only a very few I breed are winners most are homers and not many get lost. With every week inland racing I never see them come but they are there when I go to lock up, mainly reds and mealies.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 22, 2009 Report Posted October 22, 2009 whats the best distance birds to start up with. ? Better to start with some local blood that you know has been tried and tested into your area for many years, after that a cross brought in from different parts of the UK and Europe can bring new qualities and rewards.JMO
