DOVEScot Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 how pink is the skin of your birds The deeper the red the more muscle mass the whiter they are the more fat mass, that one looks good and pink compared to your fingers unless you have diabetes or high blood pressure

Guest puresoontjen Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 how pink is the skin of your birds Attachment: janssensboen83_2230.jpg Size: 23.83 KB i like to see darker pink and lots of scales on the skin.when you race the bird that will come back into the bird and dont parting the feathers from the keel like that on your races birds it takes up to 36 hours for the bird to put them back were they should be.

Guest Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 what can you see when you look at the feet of a bird? colour clean hot yes ,youll have to give a few more pointers if i am to learn any lessons(i am not that sharp) the only insight ive had into any "foot theory" is first pair theu the door ... best bird on the day??. andy.
b.w.c Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I agree with whats said abot the feet but what I like are the first 2 on the landing board on race day!!
Guest Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 clean feet = a healthy bird warm feet= a bird in condition / form colour = redish /pink= good blood flow a few pointers i was told years ago but something i only look for when conditioning for a race
leighton1984 Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 you can tell many things by the colour of the skin. when i look at birds at Blackpool or any sale you can see how good the bloke's management is and his lofts. do you want to pay big money for a bird that is not even healthy. every year i look at frank taskers birds in his stall every year and his birds are all ways pink and clean and have warm feet.
leighton1984 Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 the thing that happens every week birds that are not right to race get sent and they get lost. the fancier has not got the skills to see if the birds are right so he loses all his birds and ends with pigeons.
leighton1984 Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 if they are not pink and clean are they going to breed the very best young birds as some say don't look till April.?
