please dont read this in the wrong context, but  my opinion is that this was needed, it will do good for a lot of things pigeon and garden wise , wev,e had to many mild wet winters these last few years to kill any virus and fungal  para sites  off .

  all birds should be looking there best now , even the wild bids are looking good.

Well I have had a shock today. I have a pen with 14 yearling hens in it. They have started to take over the floor area and are carrying feathers about. The start of pairing up.

So the cold weather and freezing water has not put them off. They will have to stay in the aviary tomorrow to avoid them becoming Lesbians.

Duncan, my Mum and Dad thought that winter was a particularily cold one, I arrived 2 June 1979 so am living testament  ;D ;D ;D

At times/conditions like now.I keep a close eye on my birds, any that appear to be struggling with the cold, in my opinion, will be no good when the hard races are upon them :-/ JMO

 

Yep i had a later bred y/b struggling around new year time so sent it to the big loft in the sky ;)

well fed pigeons wont feel the cold and thats how they should be on this cold spell well fed  ;)
