Tried feeding some peanuts to young birds other day, they just pecked at them, didnt eat them, is it best to break them up or crush them for. I'm trying them out as a treat to get birds trapping quicker?

Have bought them the last couple of years from Holland and Barrett health shops, very good but very expensive and i think in 2009 i will have to re mortgage the house.

The fact you considering that option shows your a true pigeon man lol. My birds get more of my cash than I do. I wondered when I started why all my dads mates kept saying "look Paul we'll bred you some birds but be warned this sport is an obession and between pigeons and women you'll never have any money.''

How true!!!!

If I thought I needed to microwave peanuts bought from a shop for my own consumption, I'd be reporting the shop to Environmental Health. The difference between peanuts for pets and peanuts for us is that the pet shop can legally buy and sell the contaminated stuff for pets; if any shop did that and sold it for human consumption, then it could get closed down.

By law : Peanuts meant for Animals allowed 5% mould contamination; Humans - 0% contamination.
