leave him till the summer mate its to cold for old cocks to breed dont rush him wait till its warm and sunny he will fill his eggs then

oh happy days

would agree with joe61, but dont allow him to tread her until the 5th day, other wise he will be treading her for the days leading up to her being ready, if it was me i'd wait til the 5th day and let him give her all he's sperm at once plus he would have built up a nice amount of sperm to give him every chance of filling her eggs

Wouldn't bother. Surely since, and in his time, you have got his blood / genes in the loft  :-/

If not then there is no reason to even try, because he's not bred anything worthwhile. If you have, then let them carry the genes forward.

Ok, well you took a punt and hopefully you will get a couple or so youngsters. Artificial would cost a lot.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder and ardent. So would feed maples / tic 225 -25% protein and clip feathers, half a asprin, wheatgerm and a blowlamp to warm him up if you think it would help.

Good luck.
