Snowy, last year lost 5 at once, lost on Friday and the last ones came back on the Monday - all returned, and it was a race weekend for the old birds. Didn't lose any off loft, but plenty spent night out before young bird racing started. My young birds for this year  aren't flying yet.

Westy I have had youngens missing a week then been my first arrival on race day (lol) normally just in time to keep my old bird flying on return.  One cock I had missing a week came back as thin as a razor but went on later in life to be one of my best Pau pigeons. Still time yet mate.

When trying to break pigeons or in your case Westy, trying to bring AWOL youngsters down, a good tip I was given is to leave your (old) birds out from first light till dark. Has done the trick for me, both breaking old birds (a 9 year-old only last week) and fetching errant youngsters home.

Good luck.  :)

THAT'S WHY I KEEP A FEW FANTAILS, I PUT THEM OUT ALL DAY IF I HAVE YOUNGSTERS MISSING, IF THEY ARE STILL IN THE AREA WESTY THERES A GOOD CHANCE THEY WILL GET BACK

When they do finally come back Westy, I would keep them apart from your others for a few days to make sure they are OK, I lost a few YBs last year and they eventually turned in after 4-5 days, and they were crapping grean slime, so were spilt away for a fortnight until they returned to normal!!!

yes still missing 2, but leaving the trappers & old birds out all day, just incase, seen 1 still flying around but not come down yet,

oh well we still hope ;)

Don`t worry about it son,if it`s your distance babies, they could be missing for a week and come back,if any do,it could be the best thing to happen to them and be the making of them,if they stay away, you got more fresh air in your loft.,so your on a winner whatever happens :) :)
