Guest Davy Fleming Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Don't really think it matters what strain it is, it's getting the right ones and how they are looked after is the big prob
Guest mick bowler Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Ha,i bought a bird called five one bred by terry, raced by steve axton :-/ his neighbour 7 1st cubs,3 1st feds, sire was the fed cock, son of boomrange, had 4 others top class, but there was a pair that were supper breeders the planet pair,my friend bought these from mr bampton in southampton, had many good birds.Another great pair the tape ring pair Mr Whitenight, the under bidder on 51 was myself (was it £580 he went for?), Was you the man with the hat and body warmer lol??? I bought several of the top lots that day, 63 a yearling cock that had won 3 x 1st 2nd fed 2nd combine, The bergerac cock, won 3 x 1sts and his hen (bred me BBO fed winner in first nest). Also an old 94 hudson/planet hen that bred some very good birds. First ever race these were 1 2 3 club. You still have these lines in your loft?
JAS Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 You can get the best van loons or any family in but if they don,t suit your system then they will not win. Give the same birds to some one else on a different system and they could win. what i,am trying to say is get a family and give them time to settle to your system. By the way Tam Blair up here has some of the best van loons and tops the fed on a regular ocurence.
maxwell Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 These are two children of the Tape Ring Pair Blue Cock "38" 5 x 1st many other prizes & Cheq Hen "Fed Hen" 1st Fed as y/b then bred 1st Open BBC Nantes. They were fantastic crossed with our Janssen pigeons.

pjc Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I've always got on well with Roger & Terry, birds were always top notch. When they split, Rogers Hartogs were/are superb and Terrys Borgmans were again outstanding. They not only obtained the best they know how to fly them!
