yorkie Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 can anyone tell me what became of the breeding stud at wellingborough of george and webb, i can remember visiting it about 30 years ago, think he had newslad and a few other big names
Roland Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Nothing much! Think a little more than 30 years though. It was rented out afterwards. Had a few take it over and fly from there. John lawless was the last one I believe late 80's early 90's. I / my son relaid the floor for his office / watch tower there. After his desise two others tried afterwards. Was rented out with the house, but hear tell they never paid up much and ruined it. Appaarently a bit of a rogue moved in next door and then after they were got shot of, it got squatters in the house. Think the house was eventually sold on in a mess. Shame really, for it was certainly nice in it's time. The pond was wrecked and broken up etc. etc. of course long ago.
yorkie Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 thanks for reply, thats a shame, it was like a smaller version of louella and some nice birds on sale, i understood at the time it was run by a trust fund left by the guy that owned weetabix, looks like the money ran out
