Lightning McQueen Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 I race the Vandenabeele’s and they’ve responded extremely well to my management scoring short and long. Are they the best? Well there’s many a gunslinger buried under Toot Hill who thought they were fastest ;D they work for me and thats what counts same here mate, we got our first ones in 2002 and blended to them over the years M&D Evans, PJ Lofts, D&E Armstrong to name a few of the Gabys and created our own sprint to middle distance family based on these birds with the Bertus Timmer Janssens etc (good honest tryers)
Guest rodders Posted December 30, 2009 Report Posted December 30, 2009 Quoted from Tony C I race the Vandenabeele’s and they’ve responded extremely well to my management scoring short and long. Are they the best? Well there’s many a gunslinger buried under Toot Hill who thought they were fastest they work for me and thats what counts thats it tony they have to fit into your routine and if they dont peeps say they are crap i had read all about what they were winning and thought the money peeps paying so they should then got chance of some well bred and cheap 6 for £100 off flier on here so thought i will have them and fly dangly bits off them see just how good they are and they won from the off then bought a couple of hawkins cocks off another flier on here at £30 each and they bred winners staight off this year formula 1 lofts had some bargain batches 6 for £135 so got 6 they have had 9 races 5 have carded 1 winning 3 times and all 6 still here so as i said if they like your system and methods you can do well with them still and not at silly money
Guest Paulo Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 I've found them alright as good honest birds I have Mike Lycett lines. They are doing even better for me as a cross into the other strains of birds I have
david Posted January 13, 2010 Report Posted January 13, 2010 Had them from evans, Graemewarman ,John Gladwin ,and chris little . Through my ignorance i threw away a few good stock birds .Should of raced the proginy instead of thinking these birds could of conteneded with a topography so vastly different from what they were used to. The late john Kirkpatrick summed it up in the BHW article last week when he was talking about acclimatisation period being 3 seasons ..How true a statement he gave .the evans and graeme warman birds are no longer with me . However 'John Gladwins birds done very well this year for me scoring early doors .They did not go any further than 250 mile as i had problems in the loft and stopped old birds and youngsters alike . The crosses of these done very well as youngsters and i have one or two to race this year . Chris little bred me a couple of his M .Lycett lines of young copper and i have a yearling cock here that i believe is a fair pigeon .I haven't been in the birds long but this is a fast one and you could put the kettle on for him .Time will tell .?? Watch your backs Jimbo'and Bwf ..i'm on your tail .Oh' and the Keith Mafia' David
