The advert should put people off but it doesnt, when im looking to bring in fresh blood it has to come from birds that are winning now, not 20 years ago, none of the lionheart blood doesnt exists now but thats what he is trying to convince people he his selling, the races he quotes are from the 80's again why would you be fooled into thinking you were getting quality birds, as others have said he hasnt raced in 30 years so all you are buying is from a long line of non racing birds, you have just as much chance of winning by collecting street pigeons from your local town. and if  others peoples views who have visited his lofts are anything to go by the street pigeons are healthier.

I would stay well away.

spend your money at places like formula 1 lofts and get some goods birds for your money.

More like a no no no. ;D

At least he was brave enough to have a go. :)

Pigeon racing then was a bit different then from now.

I think the distance covered was 1052 miles.

A clubmate of his also had a Barcelona or Palamos pigeon called Conqueror. That fancier was Alan Raeside who did not seek the publicity Henry did.

Personally I would not attempt to influence anyone's decision.

As far as I am aware the information I have posted is factual.

I think he sells as many as he breeds but none locally.

I know he has also sold pigeons to Japan.

Well done Clocky.

I was jist a wean in short troosers and tackity bits then.

Note----tackity bits were worn on the feet and not enclosed in a cup.

A few years later I was loaned a pigeon which had done that trip for Bill Love of Lochwhinnoch. By then it was a Jaffa and never filled an egg.

For interest how many days is race time and was Lionheart inside race time.

I have met Henry Mair on 2 occasions and also for interest he did a weekly report for the BHW on the first few pigeons in Ayrshire Federation from each race. He used the pen name of Harry O.
