The only way you can justify a mating like that, if you are trying to breed racing pigeons, is to mate them because they have the characteristics to win. Generally, that would mean that they have both won races. To do it without a proper indication that you are making progress in the right direction is a wast of time and money.

Plenty has been said about the problems caused by indiscriminate inbreeding in dogs. The dog breeders are responsible for all sorts of physical and mental ailments. Many of whom are fixed into the breed and cause misery for both animal and human alike.

Unless you are sure about what you are doing and what you want to achieve, you should leave well alone. Inbreeding is a mathematical exercise and must be followed by properly organised progeny testing. If you do not want to do it properly, it would be criminal to mess about with it.
