Maybe I'm biased Homer, but those who come generally come again.  ;)

See you there maybe.

Was at Dunoon show for first time in 2007 and I would recommend anyone to go to this show. Dunoon is a lovely place and even though I never made the party/dance I have heard many rumours on how good it is. Shal be there this year indeed.

No secret Dovescot. I went offline immediately after posting and didn't see Frank's post.  :B

There are no trade stands this year because of the clash with the show in Doncaster. We do not have many trade stands at the show at the best of times, as the guys with the stands need to have lots of people to make it worth their while coming. Those stands that do come know we do not get large numbers of people over the door, even though admission is free.

For some reason we usually have more people from England and Northern Ireland than we get from Scotland. ??)

I had a weird conversation with a fancier from the East Coast a couple of years back. He asked me about the show and I was of course waxing lyrical in its regard. I asked him if he had ever been to Dunoon Show and he said no; he said he thought it was too far away. He said that he only went to a couple of shows namely Peterlee, Doncaster and Blackpool. They must obviously be closer to him than Dunoon! ??)

Personally I think that we have poor knowledge of our own country and where places are located, and those that have been Doon the Watter as children, have this perception that Dunoon is far away, because everything seems far away when we are children.

Put it in perspective:- Glasgow to Gourock is 40 minutes. Ferry to Dunoon 15 minutes.

Choice of ferry - Cal Mac each hour, deliverinig you 100 yards from show so you can leave your car in Gourock and go as a foot passenger. Or conversely get a train at Central and connect with the ferry. What a day out!  :)

Western Ferries every half hour or every quarter hour at peak times. Car over and drive to the Queen's Hall 5 minutes away. No problemo!  ;)

Why don't you come over and enjoy the craic!  ;D ;D

Grizzle hen....looking forward to seeing you and Richard. If you are over on Friday night.....see you in the Legion Club for a few libations!  ;)
