ChrisMaidment08 Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 having just spoken to peter on the setting up of stray lofts by members around the country he would assit in this by printing a list of fanicers prepared to accept strays forpeaple and areas covered this could easily work and solve a lot of problems for us
bewted Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 good one mate,,i was just trying to phone them myself but allways engaged,,,would love one of those lists to try and kick start this idea along the way forward !!!
PIGEON_MAN Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Why not start our own list i,m sure there are people on here that will pick up strays for other members,as a club secretary I have been picking up strays for years now and getting them back to there owners the cheapest way possible.Perhars WEBMASTER could set up a page where members could add there name and in what area they would be prepared to cover.I will start off if you like,Mr.A.Drinkwater.Phone 01684-566836.I live in Great Malvern which is about 10 miles from Worcester,so if anyone as a bird reported close by give me a call.I often travell around the country so can sometimes liberate a bird near to home when its ready to go.
ChrisMaidment08 Posted June 9, 2008 Author Report Posted June 9, 2008 the list of fanciers would be put in homeing world may i surgest some takes pms and make list names area phone numbers
bewted Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 if anyone wants to pm me with all relevant details,i will co-ordinate and compile every thing from here, thats if no one has any objections ?
DJ Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 count me in im more than happy to help out i think its a brilliant idea any alternative to amtrack has got to be good and on the bonus side the pigeons would be collected and cared for by fanciers amtrack called to me on tuesday without a box for the pigeon and had to wait while i found a box for it it wouldnt have been so bad if the driver could talk reasonable english in the end i had to write the fanciers name/address on the box underneath the words `racing pigeon, written in capital letters on the plus side the pigeon did arrive safely in bristol the next day but was that more luck than judgement :-/ debbie
bewted Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 all i can say at the moment is,,,if we can all try this out for a trial period and see how it goes, obviously we cant cover all parts of the uk just yet, but, with the help of all you pigeon fanciers it can work eventually !!!
Roland Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 ... Why not start our own list i,m sure there are people on here ... steady Pigeon man, this is usually the first step that leads to going down hill fast! If any thing is to be attain, then past expierences must stand US ALL in good stead that WE must do it oneselve and Use any help available. The first incling that SOMEONE else can do something is, and has been proven time in and out that apathy sets in and everyone starts to leave it to someone else and we quickly get the scenario of even suggesting what others coulkd should be able to do womewhere... end of story! Great if members are reliable over time and free publicity and hopefully more centres via RPRA spouting it in the mag! JMO
