Guest Silverwings Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 Made the journey to Minhead on saturday to meet Roland , Jo and David thresher got the intro from Paul Chatterton (showman) saw some absolutely fantastic Show Racers was a privilidge to see and be allowed to handle such quality pigeons maintained in superb condition , easy to see why a lot of racing men are making the switch to show racers ! the birds in your hand blow your mind ? rolands birds are renowned throughout the show racing world and his results with them are second to none , the whole family are involved across the whole spectrum of pigeons son David is well into the racing side with his grandfarther and rolands wife jo with the show and Fancy breeds , got some lovely birds from him to set me up in the show racing, will post some photos of them once they are settled in, have attatched two photographs of two of his champions to give some idea of the quality of his birds...............ray

showman Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Two cracking specimens........'See the Stars' looks a bit depressed and sad in the picture. I know.....maybe a really good, long holiday over here in Donaghcloney would help cheer him up !!!!!!! Wonder what Roland would think of that plan ?

Guest Silverwings Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 excellent pigeons.jim fitzpatrick up here in scotland has also some crackers and he is an absolute gentleman. heard a lot about Jim Fitzpatrick this past few weeks believe roland and jim are good friends and exchange birds on a regular basis , saw some of jims birds went i went to meet Bob Hughes a few weeks ago bob is the racing partner with steve d on this site another fantastic loft of show racers and an equally as good racing loft ! Bobs birds are very similar to rolands as are his methods both fanciers are dedicated to thier loft and birds ,Bob Hughes is the New kid on the block on the show scene , his Blackpool results this year were excelent including 3 X Ist and B.O.S when you consider he has only had the show birds about 3 years thats not bad going !! will see if i can get a couple of photos of his birds and post them on here .............ray
