Guest Paulo Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 I'm offering this bird for sale on behalf of stevenbelbin on here. Steven hasn't flown pigeons for a year or two due to chasing birds of the non feathered variety and a lack of interest due to work committents. When he raced steve had some good channel birds and achieved some good results over the water. He's never been afraid of spending money on his birds as well and had good busschaerts from Ray Forbes, Gaby Vandies from Mike Lycett (I brought a pair of birds from him and they have bred me winners already in a season and a half) and klak janssens from Tommy Napper of Hetton. Steve gave me the pair of klaks to help me get started off and a bird bred off them paired to my good hen the raggster bred me flash who won the YB national race at club, 3rd fed level and got me 26th amal as well. As you can see from the above Steve has had some good birds. He's given them away now to club members and other friends but kept some of his best channel birds in case he ever started up again. He's realised now that he's not going to and hence offers this high quality bird for sale:- "I offer for sale due to lack of time to commit to the birds the following pigeon. The pigeon is a 2002 bred Busheart cock, that has won 2 channel races, he won a channel race (450miles) as a two year old and won a channel race (400miles) as a three year old, being 1st club, 2nd fed, 22nd UNC out of 11500 birds. He is the son of a cock that has won 3 channel races, always being on the combine sheet each time. He has also had other position inland and channel racing. Offers around the £200 mark" Steve will also offer a donation to pigeon basics if the sale is successful. I have a son of this cock that I bred a hen from she got sent straight to clearmont as a yearling and was back within race time despite appalling weather conditions. Same thing when I sent her to Arras. I have kept her on the nat team for next year to try for the channel races. The strain of the bird is a busschaert. If I had some spare cash I would buy the bird myself but by the time he telt me it was for sale I had spent the last of my cash reserves on me mams crimbo box and the pigeons at John Mckeowns sale. Damn if only I had not brought the crimbo box lol Please put any offers on this thread for the birds or pm steve with an offer. Not running it as an auction cause unsure if steve wants a reserve on.

Guest Paulo Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 The busschaert blood still takes some beating!
peterpau Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 You have to be mad guys this guy had some super birds. Don't miss this one.
stevebelbin Posted December 17, 2008 Report Posted December 17, 2008 what lines are they through ? I cant be 100% sure, as the bloke who bred me sire of him refused to tell me once the sire started winning for me, he just told me he was bussheart blood. The dam was a pigeon that a bloke called Tommy Napper bred me through his Billy Napper pigeons.

Class real pigeons tend to be the ones that the blokes you pay the money to never tell you what they are off!
peterpau Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 I think if your looking at a pigeon 22nd unc it don't matter a lot what blood lines he has.
Fair Play Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Billy Napper now there is a "Blast From the past"
Guest Paulo Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Billy Napper now there is a "Blast From the past" legend noone could touch him
Guest Vic Posted December 18, 2008 Report Posted December 18, 2008 Billy? I met him on a few occasions during the time he was invited down, to Norris Green by the Reddins, who lived facing me. He loved the banter of the Royal Oak, pigeon guys at the time (my local). Yes, a down to earth man, and further indeed, as he was also a good miner. All good memories. Vic. P.S. How much is the thermostat? lol.
stevebelbin Posted December 19, 2008 Report Posted December 19, 2008 Forgot to mention, this cock also had a 2nd club bourges (550miles), arriving really early the next morning.
