They would have to make the permanent ring slightly broader to accomodate some kind of barcode which could be scanned over the time piece, anything is poss, but i wouldnt hold out much hope,ets companys will say not feesable friendsloft

I f a job is worth doing i would do it right first time,saves you money in the long term friendsloft

jupiter if you use varnish,i would you clear yacht varnish, if linseed oil, i would rub this into the willow first,let it soak in and dry,before you put the varnish,this should then last you a life time you can get these items fron any good hardware store friendsloft

you can clean the willow by using linseed oil friendsloft

Just an example using 4 exisiting feds, liverpool amal,mersey fed,countyfed,and cheshire plains fed not sure but i think these all fly into the same area total birdage apox 5000 birds,there maybe other fed aswell not sure if so 5000 + birds would not be aproblem friends loft

Gangster just a thought,if all clubs in an area formed to be one big club that would make the feds smaller, but wouldnt it be great to have 2 or 3 combines going up to gether with apox 6000 birds and you topped that combined wouldent that be abetter achivement that what we do now,i know i would like to win a big combine someday friendsloft

They can win all prizes at club level but not fed because they are up against the lads that stopped them taking prizes at club level in the first place,so to wi8n a p[rize they have to form breakaway clubs,when they start getting beat again they form another thats why we have so many small clubs and thats why they will not let you in if you fly a decent pigeon friendsloft

I agree with gangster if you are in the radius of a club you should be able to join automaticly not voted in or out, and yes we have 5 clubs in a radius of about 10 mile,i would love to see these merge into one big club, but that wont happen because most of these clubs were formed because members couldnt get their own way in the original club so formed new clubs to suit them selfs friendsloft

Tammy with the other products as you say we have freedom of choice to shop around,but like you i feel we wont get the same choice with the rings,they wont come down in price, even when the demand is there because as u rightly say this is a big goldmine with a long gold seam, put the systems out at a good price but screw us with the rings what a profit these companys are going to make friendsloft

I value all my birds other wise i would not be in this sport ,what i do object to is paying a high price to line someone elses pocket when i think the rings could be produced and marketed at aq cheeper price friendsloft

Clockman i dont drink nor smoke so that is irrelvant the quetion was how much the ETS rings against rubbers friendsloft

Time will tell but depending on how many youngsters you breed how many you lose, and for the first year how many rings you wouild have to transfer to your old bird ,would determin how many you bought the second year and so on and at £1.20 this is going to work out quite an expence friendskoft

They are clip style rings which can be transfered to one bird to another and be recoded, this will cause another problem where birdes who hjave made a mistake and gone down,could have the ring removed before it given its liberty to return home friendsloft

My reason is alot of these rings will be going on young birds,and we all know about young bird loss s can be quite high,so these rings would have to be replaced every year, i can only see one winner here,and its not the pigeon man, reduce the price of rings to a more realistic price and my vote would have been yes no problem friendsloft

Fifer i am still undecided, its not that I am against it, or the price of the system,its the cost of the rings which is my concern friendsloft

I fly in two sat clubs,both with different feds and combines m.n.f.c and a midweek club. friendsloft

my thought on this is nothing is pure if you go right back in the make up of the birds you will find that they all have cross ;s in them,so in my mind not pure but a strain blended together by the fancier,just my view friendsloft

Preparing the birds for racing is 365days, so really no one should be caught out, with the first race looming,but you always get them turning up friday night saying mine havent seen a basket yet,but you know they have because you see them up the road when you take your own,all part of the banter friendsloft
