I agree with you. We are back to that lack of education, etiquette, and a civil respect for our fellow man that has long ceased to be in some individuals. Are these characters not aware that the gentleman has only the welfare of his birds at heart?.A charge could only secure the fact these sort of fanciers just might be prepared to look after his birds. It's not rocket science.!! DAVID

I agree to a point and you outline some interesting issues.I am beginning to believe that the pen is not mightier than the sword.Alec Salmon is a most articulate educated man,but he is a yes man. I look around and see the whole country upside down because of the thugs and scum that scourge our society.I am a bit of the topic here but how long have birds of prey been doing the harm they have to fanciers and men who try to make a living of the land ..good honest people! I then look and see the political groups who perpetrate violence with strong radical views bombing their way to the debating table ...Stormont spring's to mind !! How extreme was it for us to believe this could ever happen. I believe fanciers and people from the land could get change and it's not all about diplomacy.I am an honest man who pays his way and works for respect and his money but i am more than sure i will not stand by and see anything personal to me destroyed because of red tape and clueless laws set out 500 miles away from my front door in london where jokers meet to display ridicule upon each other and make decisions about my life .No chance!...I have no answer, but will let you know when i do. Thankyou for your kind reply. I DAVID

I agree. The keeper and estate owner along with there local councilor are trying to get someone to listen to their plight and sort this sorry state of affair's out . the RSPB have brought into the Fife and surrounding area a terrible scenario of events that can only get worse. By all accounts this is not a one of and these happenings are set to escalate as long as these birds are released. It makes me cringe!! I was informed that the estate owner and keeper along with shepherd will not suffer this for long. DAVID

I got told about this event on this esate by a gamekeeper and feel all from the area should know and be made aware of this diabolical happening. I was running in cocker field trial yesterday in Elie Fife. Before the competitors got started we were advised of a few incidents that have happened on this shooting estate over the weekend and the beginning part of this week . A shepherd was out feeding ewe's on sunday when he heard screams and terrible noises coming from a field opposite where he was feeding his stock. He saw all his sheep huddled together at the far end of the field and in the middle of the field he saw what he thought was a bird of prey on a hare .He ran to the area only to find a sea eagle on top of a frantic young roe buck (this years calf) ripping lumps from it's side. .He scared of the eagle and the roe jumped to it's feet and took of into the wood's minus a few lumps of hare. The next morning a local free range chicken farm near Strathkinness had 11 chickens slaughtered by a large type eagle. The same night a women had a collie cross puppy taken from a farm in Elie and yesterday morning a man out walking with his Jack russel had it attacked of the lead while out walking. The sea eagle had lifted it of the ground about 5ft before it dropped it. Before we started the field trial yesterday we were advised this eagle was in the Area and could very well attack our cocker spaniels. We did not see anything yesterday but The gamekeeper and shepherd are at a wit's end with worry about game birds and their livestock. I could not believe these story's when told but they are all true and the men are responsible characters. I only pass this info' on to help David

I have a little unrung slatey cock i was gifted by John at Formula one lofts 4 yrs ago It;s dam was raced in the europa one loft and it's sire is a son of rolls Royce. It has taken me a while to see this little pigeons worth but in all fairness it has given me pigeons to fly into the middle of nowhere up here in Aberdeenshire. I clocked in all year (old birds) with sons of this pigeon up to 350 mile and in the results as well. If you could see where i lived you would understand why i am so happy with the pigeons of this bird. I have had Vandenbeeles that are no longer here and i guess it's like all strains ..there are good and bad in all !!. I know Vandenbeele's no longer get good press but as Mick bowler says at one time they were winning everything and could not be knocked. The credentials of these bird's speak for themselves . I have nothing to gain by putting sugar in the tea of the men that endorse this strain but for me they have flew very well in an extremely harsh enviroment. Stickability is a word i would use. Cheers DAVID
