  1. Another thing, I have only raced since 1984 and it was always thimbles must be used, Why not let the mechanical clockers do without thimbles. I don't understand why it is a rule unless people could cheat doing it. : This would save the mechanicals a bit of time.
  2. If the ets clocks birds at the same time how can this be input into the clubs computer if they have not got the special program for clubs to use. By this i mean we have got members using the 'Old' T3 clocks and printers so we use Raceday software for our results. The ETS must print out the times that the birds come into the loft and in our program there is no allowancce for points of seconds it is just 12:00:00 not 12:00:00.345. I may be wrong but this must be how ETS seperates the birds and tells you what one come first. So going by that, we would have to put the two birds on the same time which is not possible with any other clock to the best of my knowledge. :B I hope this does not sound like i am anti ETS because i am not but it is just another thing that the rpra have not thought through. This will hardly ever happen but if it does the birds will be joint first club, another thing that a mechanical clock deffo can't do. I don't agree with time penalties as people have just bought the next new thing in pigeons and as usual some are left behind. I use T3 quickstart speedtrap so no chasing for me but i am not penalised against STB users.
  3. I think the only one that is not for use in the uk is the one with the flip tops for those not using thimbles, I could be wrong. other ones that are from belgium would not be serviced by linnell but there is a new bloke about now. Think Linnell just wanted you to spend a fortune in English money then pay them a fortune ( £60 ) to have it serviced by them. Haha the laughs on you now linnell ;D ;D Good luck hope you have not bought a lemon so to speak

    Sea Liberation

great video, good find mate. I get sea sick on the famous Ferry across the Mersey lol them poor bloody birds. sensible liberation as well, have seen our birds on land get battered down by the higher baskets. There would be no way back for them poor little buggers.
  5. Gangster, I sent 6 to the race and am still two out and in our club i think it is about the same for most. can't speak for the fed but i heard that on the night one lad who sends quite a few was twenty out in this and ten out from the midlands national. Can't verify that but thats what i heard. Think we were expecting a slow one with it being the first REAL test for them and it had to come so far out (196 miles). : :B :
  6. It's a shame that we can't trace the pigeon throught the RPRA, i mean if pigeon fancier A buys the rings from his club and sells it to pigeon flyer B then he tries it against his own and it doesn't come up to scratch what is to stop him from selling it on as one of his own. there is nothing to stop the unscrupulous money maker from doing this kind of thing. But, if we were told that the ring had been transferred from A to B then sold on to me, I would smell a rat.
  7. Roland we all know of fanciers who sell birds that nobody else can win with but i feel that you are sailing a little close to the wind by putting names on. these fanciers that you have named may be mighty annoyed if people quote you as saying no-one wins with such and such's birds. As such i don't really think this is a fair topic for a thread. the fanciers that get named may not read the forums so they cannot defend themselves. It all sounds a bit unsafe to me .....JMO of course.
  8. Hey Johnny11 not a bad weekends racing matey well done all round mate. ;D ;D
  9. Peter i hope that didn't come across as if i was saying someones birds were rubbish, it's not what i meant to say. All that was meant was we have had North East winds at the beginning of the season but it was sunny and warm so you know that the wind is not strong enough to blow out a candle. Our races for the first seven of eight inland races have been between 1391 and 1766 but, yesterday (1170 winner)was a real North wind, miserable day but these races make or break a season, my race was awful but i timed in was bottom took it on the chin and put all the names of the p**s takers in my little black book lol. To me a race is a race, as soon as the birds are up it's mine against theirs. Nobody congratulates the convoyers or race controllers on a good race so why does everyone dive in feet first when they liberate and we have a bad one. The first change of conditions can't be blamed on the convoyers.
  10. I agree Rose, but, in this country it is quite rare to have the perfect racing day. Any east in the wind and it is normally a little hazy, blowhomes people complain about the race being over too quick and as in our race yesterday, it was a nightmare but looking at the video i have trained in worse conditions and expected them to get home. As far as i am concerned, i will have no complaints to tell the convoyer about. the video seems to show the weather was clear, ok cold wet on the way and low cloud, but, who trains on such days, I know I for one have done in the past and the forecast said exactly that. At the home end it was quite a pleasant day to wait for the birds not too cold and just the odd spit and spot of rain. Some of the losses will probably be down to natural wastage and by that i mean that yesterday was just about the first slow race of the year for us south roaders. the birds that were coming great guns in the fast ones got a taste of wind yesterday and were found wanting. I am still two out at ten o'clock Sunday but that happens at 200 mile races.
  11. Thanks for the video Mick. As for the race, perhaps luckily i only sent 6 and obviously i'm not as good as Vic cos i was bottom in the club and happy to make it that high. eventually clocked in at 14:08:02 comfortably bottom. Our winner is 1170 ypm, no where near the Fed winner (at least i think its the winner) He clocked in at 12:39:?? what a way to finish the inland season, just about everyone in the club was birds missing at the 5 o'clock strike. Bloody nightmare. Like Vic said we now have up until Thursday to get the channel team ready.
  12. Hey Mick just watched the slideshow great pics mate next time do us a video please if your photo camera does video. We are there again this week if you fancy it.
  13. We are in the North West combine and are at Portsmouth again and that is 196 miles to me. I am sending one in the Chester two bird club as well and they are going to Picauville (haw he haw france) that is 284 miles. weather looks to be north or nnw all way home and cloudy but dry in cherbourg. Good luck everyone. North Wales novice Poole is 189 to me dunno if that helps you but i fly Hereford 90 miles frome 150 miles Perhaps you can guess at your distance from them. I Fly to the Wirral.
  14. I'm in the North Wirral Federation and we race in the North West Combine. Our club winner is doing 1564ypm. Jones & Thomas look to have topped our Federation and they have slaughtered that winner in our club, they get about 3 miles overfly and are in the clock 2 mins in front of it so it should be a good un in the combine. Thanks for the pics mate they look great. You didn't see a pied cock did ya lol
  15. Lol try to rise above him mate, he is just another one of us sh*t flyers trying to pin the blame on the new boy. Hear it all the time at clubs...... couldn't get mine in cos of ....blah...blah...blah. just ignore the t*t.
  16. Come on Gangster you'll have to expand on that. Is this just doubt or is it proven?

    I GIVE UP

Paul sorry to hear about it mate but as to you asking why they did it while you were out it is because if you were there you would have beat the sh** outta them. then it would be YOU who was taken by the police, as it is nothing will happen and the police will not even bother themselves. :-/ Once again sorry mate
  19. Thanks a lot Casbri
  20. Could anyone who is a member of the above club please thank the secretary for collecting and reporting a pigeon that had to be put out of it's misery having lost a wing. :'( :'( He took the bother to write me a letter telling me what had happened to the poor bird. I will pass on the letter to the owner of the bird. I would have phoned him to thank but he never put a number on the letter. The Secretary in question here is MR G Carr. Thanks once again P Brown Secretary of Bebington HS.
  21. North Wirral Federation and West Lancs Amal are at Wincanton Marking tonight. Forecast to be West South West all the way. This could be a real quickie. winds hitting 19-20 some of the way so don't be caught out. Good luck to all everywhere
  22. :oGeordie, which five are for stock and which five are race lofts LOL ;D
  23. diamond dave, it sounds like you have got pop ups stopped. you will need to try disabling the antivirus that is running or possibly the firewall. I don't know what you are running there so can't be of much help i'm afraid. disable one of them, then try the website again. That way you will know which one is stopping you. **!!Don't forget to start them up again !!** Good luck
  24. Not sure what you mean but here is the address http://www.mnfc.org.uk/ You may have to switch off pop up stoppers as it opens another window. To be able to access the member's pages you will need to log in using the Web ID and Password provided by the club. If you do not have an ID and Password, please contact the Race Secretary Mr Peter Humphries by eMail using Peter@Humphries.com That is on the page that opens up

    Yearlings

I sort of agree with Roland here but as most people have more yearlings than old birds isn't it natural that yearlings go to all races. We have had mainly east winds to start the season but it has been warm every time until this week. previous weeks it has been sunny but this week it was overcast and quite cool i thought. This week was the worst that my birds have come for me, got one (bacon saver for me) then it was a 9 minute wait for next bird. previous weeks birds were on top of each other. This is why i think Roland could be right but, only when it is not sunny. We have had 5 races and it is 3-2 for the yearlings in the club. No member that i know of lost many yearlings, got all mine, but perhaps next weeks birdage will show.
