They got a 5th in class 28 old hen flown 200 miles, it's full brother to this got a card last year and the mother the year before so must be a good family for Blackpool Results in fancy show were 2 - 1st's ,1 - 2nd and 1- 3rd, only one of the birds got no card and they got an NPA certificate with the blue grizzle young hen, they only showed 5 young Americans and they are all off the same pair they bought in Dortmund 2008, they have 4 NPA certificates between the 5 of them now out of just 3 shows.

The problem is that Blackpool City Council don't own the Winter Gardens, according to the locals they would love to own that and Blackpool Tower which is owned by First Leisure who seem to be happy raking in the maximum amount of money for the least amount of outlay :-/

Sorry to hear about that it must be devastating to have it happen at all and even worse when you are away from from home for a period of time. We all come on here and post countless times that we are going to be in such and such a place at a given time especially Blackpool. We are lucky that we always have someone at home looking after the house and dogs, although they don't deal with the pigeons they can see the lofts. Wouldn't it be great if we could name and shame scumbags that do these terrible acts but sadly websites are frightened to do so in case they are threatened with liable

I haven't seen that before but I use spell check all the time and Chick proof reads most of my posts :-/

Blackpool city council have a bid in for it to First Leisure so they might change it if they win. I think as long as the present owners are getting the money in they won't do anything to it unless forced to :-/ JMO

Pigeons definately see in colour. I was at a display in Flamingo Land Holiday Park and Zoo where an animal/bird trainer had pigeons doing different things depending on the colour of flag he used :-/

The place needs refurbished and upgraded and the only time they can do it is closed season so that is how the show will lose out. Another sea side town would have to have the venue to host the show and willing to open their hotels for the w/e. It could not be too far south that it would make the Scottish fanciers lose out or on the east coast the Irish fanciers would lose out, that is why Blackpool is ideal and would be very hard to equal but needs must. The heat and smell in some of the halls was diabolical due to the lack of air conditioning. There is only so much they could do with it being a listed building, the Spanish hall would take months to refurbish to it's original beauty :-/

No I only have them for pleasure, Chick wants to get get get rid of all the fancy etc so we can concentrate on the racers and cut back to one loft, I am keeping my Birmingham rollers, I have 20 pure whites, they don't roll as they should are over fed but I will be controlling that this year and see how good they are, I also have a pair of Irish tumblers

Maybe they think, "look at the doos on her" Or the legs on her ;D
