    Hawks

If a hawk comes into our area for any reason then how do "WE" know its not a captive bird thats escaped. We may be helping the RSPB eliminating captive/released birds like the EAGLE OWL in Yorshire :-/

We should look at the history of eagle owls in britain to see if they were present at any time, this would be a good case for release, as in all other release programmes reintroducing birds like the sea eagle on Mull, the red tail kite on the Black Isle
  9. We are not mocking the swingers, just letting you all know when Tammy was last at the METROPOLE in BLACKPOOL ;D

So on the same token, if anyone just wounds anything, you cannot be blamed for killing it It may die of a broken neck when it falls out the tree It may die of starvation It may die at the hands or teeth of another predator Does anyone have the clipping or a link of this remark by RSPB

  13. I think because we keep our birds in unatural conditions they are not street wise like the ferals, I have seen lots of posts where someone keeps a feral because they are wise to the hawk and are first in the loft If hawks were propotional to the rest of the bird population then it would be more acceptable but in some areas its not thanks to the strong lobby for RSPB in gaining and keeping them protected Bird watching is big business to RSPB santuaries and visitor centre hides, photography, tourism, telescopes etc, I once asked a warden in Boat of Garten Aviemore about the wildlife in the area, in front of everybody he gave this big speal above how he love the wild life, then I aked for his comments on the shoot that was organised at Rothymurchus Estate by the RSPB and if he had in fact taken part and killed any deer ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D He rubbished it, but my friend is the butcher for the Rothymurchas estate so I even told him the haed count on the shoot ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have said several times we should set up and support an "eagle owl" release programme, it is a European eagle owl so like our other EC freinds it has a right to a living in this country ;D Liked the suggestion of firework rockets when they are about ;D

  18. A lot of captive birds go awol in the summer, especially from amatures as they don't use tracking, the birds get good thermal currents and can soar for miles >

I don't think you need to put ferrets around the loft, just their dropping, also discourages the vermine
  24. Will the shavings not attract dampness easily
