  3. I hope it works, but will be a lot dearer, I done a pricing plan and did not find it viable. It would be ok to do it by areas but the minute you cross over it becomes very near impossible. Ok in central areas but the minute you have rural or outlying areas definately would not work. Couriers like Amtrak have hubs all over the country, we would need something like a holding loft able to section or quarantine birds. Example pick any place in britain, lets say Scotland. right in the middle of Edinburgh/Glasgow/Moffat/Creif you have Whitburn, ten pigeons to each of all places all, Amtrak would do that from £170 if they were for four adresses or they would get £1200 for 40 seperate adresses, good money at the top end but no way worth it at the bottom end. How would anyone cope if they had to go beyond that small area like Carlysle to Aberdeen or Greenock to ST Andrews for the same money. Bearing in mind Amtrak can, from Aberdeen/Greenock/St Andrews to Kent/Plymouth Swansea/Cardigan, because they are not just carrying pigeons to all these places I think you would have the same networking nightmare if not a hell of a lot worse :-/
  4. If you buy a house in the country, just to get away from it all ;D ;D ;D Bottled water is dearer than bear and petrol :-/

  6. Sadly just a case of supply and demand, it is what makes the modern world tick, low yields and high demand. Whether it be grain, oil, wood, housing or fresh air it costs more £10 a bag or JS best all round today :'(

  8. Not an assumption, it's a fact We always report birds that have came into us, and have met up with guys on ma travels to give them it back to save them costs, very little fanciers want them amtraked to them, we have been told a number of times kill it or keep it We always arrange to get our birds back whether it be a fantail or a racer

  15. Well worth the 8 or 9 quid What do you think Jerry What about you Tom
  16. Ours too, it was just one of these things, the cat got past all our defences and lived to fight another day, one of our problems is the size of the garden :-/
  17. Personally I think everyone has the right to do and keep what they want, as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. I will first tell the owner my problem and ask them to deal with it so we can both enjoy what we have. A bell on the cats collar would al least alert us the dogs or the pigeons to their presence, How would they like it if my little friends came into their garden and killed their precious little animal. I would be told to keep them under control, so should they, if not it is the old Chinese method as far as I am concerned :-/
  18. We were working outside today, Carol was in the old loft and I was across from the new loft. The new loft door was open and all the birds were enjoying the sun, we thought because we were working there, everything would be fine. A cat sneaked into the loft and scattered all the birds. I caught it with a fantail in it's mouth leaving the loft, just missed it with the toe of my boot but luckily it dropped the fantail. We won't be so complacent again, and the cat will be dealt with appropriately next time I see it Sorry 883 girl but that is where I draw the line :-/
  19. Aye but one very little will heed, human nature or modern culture endlessly get things that they know nothing about or can cope with because they have not done any homework. :-/
  20. I think it just where you buy them and what people call them, but I think they are all the same, maybe different strains :-/ By the way they do not Amtrak too well they are very easily stressed
  21. NAW ABSOLUTELY USELESS. ;D ;D ;D Ours do fly out but that's because they were bred here and are really hand tame, they have no homing instinct at all, but are quite territorial, males can be quite dominant and tolerate their young but not a strange male, they would fight to the death. I have both white and ringneck at the moment
