  2. Some really nice birds Micko, you might find the young may throw reds or whites, but you never know as they seem to be well crossed
  3. What a brilliant initiative and hopefully can be adopted into more schools, this is what the governing bodies should be taking on to promote pigeons. I done a similar thing for promoting Judo on behalf of The Scottish Judo Fed and it really works

  11. Depends if it is dry or weathered wicker or whether it has previously been varnished, previousy varnished should be redone the same as it will be sealed and all you are doing is re applying the sealant, better using spirit based. dry or weathered wicker needs resealed and can take water based varnish, paint or preservative. I have just gutted some of mine, finely sprayed them with spirit based varnish and relined them Beware of woodworm they love wicker baskets:'(
  12. Our rollers do not drop, they do a tight spin every now and again while flying along normally :-/

  15. As soon as your birds are out of the loft they can be subject to loads of problems, especially the ones that are so well doped up they have lost all their imune system :-/
  16. What if DEFRA did not take enough action and somehow we were faced with an epidemic of bird flu, they would be crucified for that as well, it may not effect pigeons but try selling that to the general public who have no time for pigeons in the first place :-/ Agencies always go overboard with restrictions to protect themselves from comebacks :-/
  17. NOW YOUR TALKING, COULD BE A GREAT WAY TO ACCOUNT FOR SUDDEN DEATHS
  18. Welcome to the site Romeo, i hope your not looking for Juliet, she is long gone :)
  19. At least it may be contained if on a chicken farm and also the cauase of the outbreak sourced :-/
  20. I wouldn't put powered lime on the floor with sand, only a lime wash while cleaning the loft and then let it dry
  21. There is a product we use called Stallosan F on top of anything we use http://www.regencypoultry.com/shoparea.asp?p=af4a39a9-c38f-43c7-8085-d147b3616a20
  22. Interesting one to look at :-/ :-/ :-/
  23. If you use sand it has to be dry, you can get kiln dried cheapest from Jewson or other builders merchants, do not use sawdust as it is too fine and will be blown about easily and harbours dampness as well, use shavings or coarser, easybed is a product you can buy or even wood chippings or bark We are going to try loft granuals for the first time as it seemed to work really well in Rembrants lofts
  24. And don't forget the multiple users :-/
