  5. We have kept both pigeons and chickens, no problem with health as long as they are all healthy, they will live side by side but hens will raid the nest and kill the young piogeons as they will eat anything, we learned that the hard way. Farmers for years, have kept them together, I know of two that still do and have some of the healthiest stock I have aquired
  6. Welcome to the site this is the first post of yours I have read Why should the public moan about their pet cat or dog being prey to an eagle owl when us as the public moan to the deaf it seems when our pets, namely pigeons, canaries, finches and mumerous others are prey to hawks and falcons. My mate keeps canaries in an aviary and has had the heads pulled off by sparrow hawks, yet he is punished by the bias laws that do not allow him to retaliate, We have doves in a cote that are love every bit as much as any cat or dog so why are we not allowed to protect them Just found your other posts http://forum.pigeonbasics.com/v-search/p-2/
  7. Although it is Amtraks responsibility to deal with the things that go wrong, I think it is down to the individuals that handle the birds in the boxes, you never know one might even be a flying rat opinionist with no regards for pigeons and don't care a jot about how they are handled, I am sure due to the law of averages there will be a few that work for them :-/

  19. Alot of these memos just become a poster on the board and very little drivers read them, but the chain of comand have done the obligotary posting :-/
  20. It is all down to the attitude of the individual driver, our local guy is from pigeon stock and takes great care of the birds, no doubt there will be drivers and hub staff that don't give a sh** about the pigeons or the way they handle the boxes. Amtrak need to trace the journey of the birds and sort out the ones that let this happen :-/
