  3. Cheers just the same as wood shavings, we used to sprinkle stalosanF over it as well, Chickadee went back to scraping every day, we are going to try loft granuals over the summer
  4. Aye if they dinnae get it right. they don't get in, i have one for my rollers which is only 2 & 1/2 inches wide so the racers or fantails cannot get in to their section

  12. One loft I was in had only a half inch deep kiln dried sand, cheap from jewson's white mono block sand, also quite sterile due to heat process

  16. Managed to upload my first YOUTUBE video showing the flap I made and fitted to Billy's loft when he got taken into hospital, a couple of pieces of ply, a hinge and some counter wieghts :)

Aye kiln dried sand :-/ I am trying for the first time loft granuals, £7 a bag it is a form of deep litter similar to cat litter but for pigeons, I was in Rembrants lofts and it really seemed to be working well, just rake the worst of the top, Chickadee is tired of scaping out every day I first tried saw dust from the workshop but it was too fine, scattered too easy when the birds flapped their wings Do not use hard wood shavings, use soft wood shavings as heavy as possible or there is a product called easybed that a lot of fanciers use

  22. Colour would help to see how old the bird is, till you get the number, best to catch it at night when it's roosting if possible
  23. Was there not a post a while back where someone suggested microwaving them to kill any harmful bacteria Most pigeon feed merchants sell them in 25 kg bags, so these are not good for them :-/
