Racing from Tewksbury this weekend,approx 99mls sending 11cocks and 11 hens.

Light showers and a westerly wind at the moment but a few very dark clouds about.

Mainly cloudy with a fresh south west wind and on the cool side.

The last couple of years on darkness I've only had them on it for 8 weeks max but noticed the youngsters paired quickly when taking them off.This season they are still on the dark and no sign of pairing yet.In the past I've had them lay before racing starts as I only have one section for youngsters and can't split them.I like them to have a nest but found they are keener on the first nest and will sit a lot longer on overdue eggs,so get a few good weeks out of them on the nesting cycle.I will take them off the dark on the 15th June and see how it goes.

Missing a yearling cock, although it was a high 1500's day the returns were erratic and most lads had one or two birds out.

Burtonwood sent 142 birds to Portland, the birds for the channel race went last night,don't know what the turnout was.

Full team this weekend,12 cocks and 12 hens,this season the cocks so far are better than the hens winning 4 and the hens only 1,but one hen was 2nd fed to a clubmate.We are at Portland this week approx. 190mls.Good luck everyone.
